The PE socket is to allow you to ground/earth the panel, which
can help resolve DMX problems if your laptop is not earthed.
2.2 Connecting up
2.2.1 Cautions
Radio transmitters may affect the operation of the
console and we recommend that they are not placed on,
above or behind the console. If you are wearing one it is
best placed in a back pocket or behind you when
attached to a belt.
2.2.2 Software installation
From v7, Windows XP and Vista are no longer
supported. Your PC must be running Windows 7 or
Windows 8.
For Titan Mobile, do not connect the panel to your PC for the first
time until you have installed the Titan Mobile software, which you do
simply by running the installer file. This will make sure the drivers for
the panel are installed.
Having installed the software, connect the two USB cables for the
panel. If your PC asks you for drivers, select 'Install the Software
Automatically'.
The first time you run Titan Mobile you will need to register the
security dongle in the panel with Avolites.
The Titan One software will work with or without the USB dongle.
DMX dongle plugged in: a full lighting control system that will
output one universe of DMX or Artnet.
Without the dongle connected: an easy to use Simulator that
will output 12 lines of DMX or Art-Net with a spoiler, enabling
you to program or edit a show on your laptop using any Art-Net
visualiser, and then load this straight into any Titan console.
2.2.3 Connecting Titan Mobile panel to your laptop/PC
For best usability, your PC should have a touch screen. However, if
not you can use the mouse to select touch buttons.
The Titan Mobile panel connects to the PC using USB cables. From v5
software only one connection is needed, this should be connected to
port A on the Titan Mobile panel (next to the DC power socket). For
earlier software versions both cables must be connected. Power is
normally supplied down the USB connection and the external DC
power socket is not used.
